According to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks program, researchers funded by Industrial Doctoral Networks must comply with the following two eligibility criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must not hold a doctoral degree at the date of their recruitment.
- Mobility Rule: Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting organization for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.
Profiles are advertised on Euraxess, and broadly advertised on web pages, social media, and mailing lists. 181 applications have been received as of 3rd of March 2025.
Each application is reviewed on eligibility criteria and adequation to profile by the Cocoso executive committee.
For each research project, eligible and adequate applications are assessed by an ad hoc recruitment committees consisting of the two supervisors, as well as 1 or 2 more members of the consortium.
Applications are shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- Academic background: grades and relevance of degree/thesis
- Relevant professional experience
- Motivation to join the COCOSO network
- Reflection on the PhD project
Shortlisted applicants are invited for oral interviews with the recruitment committee. A ranking is established and is communicated to applicants as soon as the first round of interviews for all research projects is over.
