As an MSCA Industrial Doctoral Network, COCOSO trains doctoral candidates to work at the interface between academia and industry. The programme combines high-level scientific research with a strong focus on application and innovation, enabling researchers to address real-world challenges while maintaining scientific excellence.

Through joint academic and industrial supervision and a structured training programme, doctoral candidates gain valuable insight into non-academic environments while strengthening their research skills.

This includes international training blocks held every six months in different European countries, regular online work package meetings, and individualised training opportunities tailored to each researcher’s needs. Cross-disciplinary and specialised training modules, together with tailored career support, enhance employability and prepare researchers for diverse career paths, particularly within the social sector.
