Cocoso formalizes the cooperation with NORWEL, the Norwegian Research School in Social Work and Child Welfare. NORWEL supports PhD-students in developing their research projects with a high level of relevance for social and child welfare policies and service delivery. The school provides an innovative mix of formal and informal learning activities, ensuring that PhD-students are offered an inclusive environment for exchange of ideas.
As part of its activities, NORWEL offers five PhD-courses, each credited with five ECTS. All courses are designed with specific relevance for research in social work practice.
COCOSO and NORWEL both aim to support PhD-education in social work, including child and social welfare. From spring 2026 it will be possible for PhD-students in both organizations to participate in the PhD-courses organized by NORWELL or in the training blocks organized by COCOSO

We are confident that this will be a great opportunity for networking and for acquiring research skills, together with other PhD-students across Europe!
